OCI
Bringing 700 employees together through a bespoke hybrid activation programme
How do you build powerful, lasting team spirit when your people are spread across the whole country? For its annual offsite on the theme of the Future, the OCIgroup, supported by the agency WinWin, needed to unite its teams and spark a genuine sense of belonging. To orchestrate an event on this scale, Arcane Experience designed a large-group team building programme like no other: a hybrid journey spanning 6 weeks of digital activation, capped by an immersive day at Futuroscope to strengthen cohesion across the whole company.
The challenge: engaging 700 people remotely and managing crowd flow in real time
Uniting a community of 700 people spread across France is both a management and a logistics challenge. Leadership wanted real team cohesion to build up beforehand, while avoiding the trap of a one-way conference once everyone was on site.

Uniting 700 employees
Connecting remote teams to build a strong sense of belonging long before the gathering itself.

Managing crowd flow
Splitting a group of 700 participants to keep every team building activity running smoothly.
The tricky part: keeping involvement high over several weeks, while designing an offsite programme that could spread the crowds out across a vast theme park.
Our answer: 6 weeks of digital teasing and live theatrical storytelling
To hold participants’ attention over time and bring this large-group team buildingto life, our team built on an existing mobile platform to configure a bespoke challenge trail, wrapped in an immersive narrative thread. If your offsite goals lean more towards fully digital learning, take a look at our Saint-Gobain serious game.

Collaborative teasing
Pre-event activation via a mobile app to choose a team name and logo, and create a unique rallying cry.

Narrative thread
A host playing a space explorer to pace the launches and keep the on-stage transitions lively.

Challenges and puzzles
A guided trail across Futuroscope, punctuated by photo challenges and brain teasers every 30 minutes.
Logistics engineering: the art of segmentation for 700 participants
An incentive event of this size leaves nothing to chance. To avoid bottlenecks and keep the mood buoyant, our logistics team drew up a bespoke flow map. Rather than sending every team along a single route, we split the group into independent sub-teams with completely different itineraries, encouraging them to work together.
Each group followed its own route, never reaching the same checkpoints at the same time. Thinning out the crowd this way — echoing the geographical scattering we tackled in our SNCF Réseau team building— was overseen on the ground by a strong team of facilitators. By managing the key checkpoints, our event agency turned a mass-scale challenge into a seamless, one-of-a-kind experience.
The impact: team spirit rekindled and a unified company culture
Running over 6 weeks of production and activation, this corporate team building programme culminated in a grand awards evening based on scores accumulated from day one.

Team spirit rekindled
Bringing employees closer for the long run through shared rituals and healthy inter-office competition.

A fast-paced offsite
Energising traditional working sessions with theatrical interludes and memorable connected challenges.

A festive gala evening
Celebrating shared success at an awards ceremony honouring every participant’s commitment over the weeks.
FAQ: getting large-group team building right
What makes a large-group team building event work without the crowd crush?
It all comes down to fine-grained segmentation and personalised routes planned in advance. With 700 people, sending everyone to the same place creates frustration and breaks group cohesion. You need asynchronous itineraries that never cross, digital tools to guide flows in real time, and strong facilitators on the ground to run the major checkpoints and instantly thin out any build-up of players, so teamwork can flow.
Why is a digital activation phase ahead of the offsite worth it?
A standard motivational offsite often confines cohesion to a single day. Digital activation beforehand (6 weeks here) breaks the ice much earlier. By inviting employees to create their team identity (name, logo, rallying cry) and solve challenges remotely, engagement builds organically and collective intelligence kicks in. On the day, the barriers have already fallen, teams are tight-knit, and the live event becomes the high point of a shared adventure.
Can your original large-group activity concepts be adapted to other venues?
Absolutely. Whether it’s a vast park like Futuroscope, a private estate or large meeting rooms, our game design method is tailored to the layout of your spaces, indoors or out. We use the specifics of the site to feed the plot and the activities (a connected treasure hunt, creative challenges, and more). Our programmes are built to slot smoothly into the constraints of suppliers and communications teams. Planning a large-scale offsite? You can contact us directly to design your next project.
