GAME-BASED BANKING TRAINING

The challenge
Our client wanted to build an unconventional training programme around wealth management and banking issues. The aim: break away from standard training formats and bring in something modern through play. They needed a game that could be transported easily and slotted into regular training sessions. The goal was to drive engagement through play while building employees’ skills.
Our answer
A scripted board game following the lives of fictional clients at a bank branch. Five boards for five different clients, each covering a specific banking topic (for example, the beneficiary clause).
Each board follows the life of one client or a couple, and is split into three phases of play matching three life stages. First, players — the learners — move forward at the pace of their client’s life. Then they advise them as best they can to raise their satisfaction, wealth and trust gauges.
The format
Five question-and-answer board games, each with its own theme: beneficiary clause and inheritance; marital property regimes and investment taxation; diversifying investments; retirement; income tax.
Learners play in pairs, working through game-style questions. Each game is built around the client experience and comes with an additional half-day of classroom training.
